ICYMI, it’s Jazz in July once again! We caught up with i_am_davo, a major jazz enthusiast and avid sketcher whom you might remember from 2023. Here are David’s notes and sketches for shows he caught so far from this year’s edition ✨ Richard Jackson and Friends, 5 Jul: “This was the first drawing I’ve done in a long time but turned out far nicer than I expected! I can get quite obsessive with my linework, but for Jazz in July, I try to draw live and within the two sets, hence the not-so-accurate lines.” Grooveworks and Omniform, 5 Jul: “I caught them as they were playing some Greg Lyons originals (Vale, Greg), including his iconic Built to Last. I wanted to create a poster, so I lined the musicians up in a row and drew them tiny.
