I have often been compared to this wonderful human being. Although I knew it wasn’t meant to be complimentary, inside I always felt proud to be compared to someone who was so unapologetically original. What makes me the most saddened is the fact that for all the good he did, most of his life he was the butt of the joke. In true American fashion, we couldn’t possibly allow someone to be unique without giving them shit for being so. He was a true role model and the world was a better place with him in it! I hope he’s in a glittery aerobics studio in the sky! #richardsimmons
