Today all 9th grade Global Studies students participated in an in house โ€œfield tripโ€ in the kitchen of the Bryan Innovation Lab. Chef Shola Walker from Anna Julia Cooper School cooked with our students and taught them about the role of food in the African Diaspora. She discussed and cooked macaroni and cheese, spoonbread, collard greens, sweet potatoes, and a lemon cake recipe by Malinda Russell- one of the first black Americans to publish a cookbook. ๐Ÿ“ธ Chase Wingfield โ€˜23 #stewardsclassroom
