We had never done this before, so it took a lot of creativity and planning to make the mechanics come together just right. Once we felt good about our plan, we started laying out the lights and getting a feel for what the process would be like when we did it for real. Lights needed to be installed on top of the paint, so we started with the basic ice install. Thin layer of ice, then paint, then a few thin layers of ice to seal it in. Once that was done, we started laying down the LED lights, getting the connections just right, and getting them sealed in with the sprayers, so they wouldn't move. That took all night, so we had to cover the ice so it wouldn't melt the next day, when it was time to start hose flooding.
