#FacultyFeature: Avery O. Williams ‘86, an assistant professor in the Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media Studies (CTEMS) Department, has written the screenplay for a new Lifetime Original Movie, “Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie” starring Naturi Naughton (“Power”) and Tanyell Quian (“Queen Sugar”). The production team, including Executive Producer Garcelle Beauvais, recognized the value of authenticity and chose to shoot part of the film on the Morehouse College campus. This decision not only provided a realistic setting but also created opportunities for CTEMS alumni and current Morehouse students where many served as production assistants and background actors for the film. “Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie” is set to premiere on the Lifetime Channel on Saturday, July 20 at 8/7c and will be available for streaming the following day.
