Mentorships and collaborations are essential for good policy. That's why more than 20 mentors and 50 students gathered for the relaunch of the Center for Information Technology Policy’s (CITP) research fair. During the event, mentors were matched with students based on their interests for “speed-dating” style chats focused on research interests like algorithmic fairness, cryptography, disinformation, race and technology, human-computer interaction, and technology and labor. Attendees ranged from graduate students and pre-doctoral/postdoctoral fellows to princeton faculty members. Students came from all class years and disciplines. The organizers, princetonspia’s Ross Teixeira and Mona Wang, hope to host the event annually with plans to grow it to include the broader Princeton community. CITP partnered with INTERFACE, a student group that discusses topics of the impacts and ethics of computing, to host this event. 💻 💡 #AtSPIAWeLead #AtSPIAWeLearn #AtSPIAWeRIse #InformationTechnology #...
