This year’s ppiaprogram Junior Summer Institute at SPIA was comprised of 17 driven undergrads from colleges across the U.S. and Abu Dhabi. The students focused on statistics as well as a course on global systemic risk taught by Vice Dean Miguel Centeno. Outside of the classroom, they had the opportunity to engage with SPIA/JSI alumni (do you recognize any faces? Big thanks to our alumni for sharing their wisdom! 👏🏻) and incoming Dean Amaney Jamal! Dean Jamal shared her inspiring journey, including thoughts on being a child of Palestinian immigrants to the U.S., how she worked three jobs to fund her graduate studies, and how it is important for the students to bring passion to all that they do throughout their studies and careers.
