#WooWho: “During my undergrad princeton I took a class on civil society and read ‘Democracy in America,’ which in part describes the power of civic association. We are strongest when we are together. This message resonated with how I grew up in a vibrantly multicultural hometown of Edison, NJ. My boyscoutsofamerica troop marched each year in the Memorial Day Parade to remember local veterans. My high school choir sang holiday carols at nearby hospitals and senior centers. My family joined others to clean up the nature trails in our neighborhood parks. The Princeton academic experience added to my belief in building community and engaging in service, though it is #covid19 that most vividly highlights how important our local and national public institutions are.
