As a humanitarian aid worker, I go to countries that are experiencing conflict, natural disasters, or their own epidemics. These emergencies represent serious disruptions where people can’t take for granted that they’ll have a place to live, an income, food on the table, access to clean water, or health care. The Covid-19 crisis is going to have a major impact on displaced populations. People in these situations normally live in very rough and uncertain conditions. Many refugees are living in very crowded, high-density camps, so transmission of the virus can be very quick.
