#WooWho: “Reading #MLK’s writings transports me to another plane of optimism, to think on what we can be as a community when we envision shared goals of humanity. This idea of improving the world has long been part of my ethos. I am passionate about policy and believe it can make the world a better place. My mom’s a teacher, and my dad’s an artist. From an early age, I resonated with their pursuit of their passions. I was that kid in the Baton Rouge state capitol, spending my summer days watching legislation go through. When I enrolled at lsu, I studied economics to try to understand policy’s effects. I supplemented the degree with four minors for a wider lens. Most important for my personal growth was my exchange year in Germany. It was the first time I lived outside my hometown; meeting people from all over the world expanded my understanding of shared humanity.
