The first time we tried to do this hike we made it over a mile before deciding the tide was too high for our comfort (especially with a baby). We knew it was a hike along the beach but weren’t aware how much the tide makes a difference not only in safety but also overall challenge (the low tide allows you to walk on a harder surface making it WAY easier).
Here are the details:
[save this post for your next PNW road trip]
Hike: Hole in the Wall via Rialto Beach
(in Olympic National Park)
Distance: 3.3 miles
Vert: minimal- hike is along beach
Supposedly you can complete this hike in most tide conditions but I highly recommend going at low tide. It was a way better experience! 😂
