Yesterday it was 9 years ago that Alessandro Del Piero shook the Sydney Football Stadium with a sensational goal in his first appearance at home against the Newcastle Jets. This goal really showed the whole sporting public of Australia what world class football looks like, the affect it can have on sporting culture. I was sitting in Bay 25 that day (IYKYK) & I can tell you I haven’t experienced such ecstasy watching a football moment in Australian Football apart from The 2006 World Cup Qualifier & Tim Cahill’s Volley against The Netherlands. Being one of my footballing heroes, having the pleasure to be able watch him at Moore Park almost every Fortnight for 2 years was sensational.
