Everyone will tell you about the World Cups he won & the Brazilian National and State Championships he had received, but for me the most fascinating story was his time with the @nycosmos in the old carnation of the @mls the NASL. According to the Documentary “Once In A Lifetime” General Manager Clive Toye convinced Pele with this quote beating out clubs in Italy trying to lure him for Million dollar Salaries (in 1973 🤯) “You can win Trophy’s anywhere, but here you can win an entire country”.
