GRAND FINAL DAY in the @aleague tomorrow, @sydneyfootballclub @melbournecity 6:30pm AUS EST. Who better than for Melbourne City to face than the original sky blues of the league, Sydney FC. Prior to the takeover from the City Group “Melbourne Heart” we’re aiming to capture the football public that weren’t behind Melbourne Victory. With their Red and White Stripes they stood out but when Manchester City came in to buy out the club, they had intentions to share the colours of Sydney FC “Sky Blue”. I’ve always dubbed it “The Big Sky” I don’t know if it’ll catch on, but it should due the Sydney’s Rivalry with Melbourne Victory (navy blue coloured) being dubbed “The Big Blue”. Tomorrow Night we’ll see Melbourne City in the old Melbourne Heart colours of White and Red so for the OG supporters there is a romantic feel to it to make a feel good story, despite the situation the players and staff have had to deal with due to the COVID 19 situation in Victoria.
