Almost 1 week ago asone2023 put in a bid to convince FIFA that Australia and New Zealand were worthy hosts of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. A lot of tension was writing on this with a slight bit of redemption after Australia’s almost embarrassing bid for the 2022 Men’s World Cup back in 2010, a bid we lost due to corruption that the Australian media claimed FFA of stealing tax payers money cause our bid was so irrelevant . This bid had a different aura as this was sold as not just a co-bid but a co federation-bid with Asia and Oceania being involved, & with the recent steps Football Australia granting equal for the Matildas & The Socceroos, that certainly proved to FIFA that women’s is valued in our governing body as the men.
