Natural Bridge State Park’s main attraction is its 200-foot-tall limestone natural land bridge, which inspires gasps from park visitors. This natural attraction was created after millions of years of erosion from nearby Cedar Creek. What many don’t know about this park is that it was previously owned by founding father Thomas Jefferson and remained in his family’s ownership for 250 years. Jefferson and his family often inhabited the 150-acre park and hired a freed African American man named Patrick Henry to take care of it, making caretaker Patrick Henry the first park ranger for Natural Bridge. #virginia #stateparks #vastateparks
