13 years ago my filmmaker friend Sacha Gervasi released a small indie documentary called “Anvil! The Story of Anvil”. It soon became a cult classic, and is now considered one of the greatest rock documentaries of all time—a true-to-life, can-you-f-ing-believe-this-is-actually-real ‘Spinal Tap’ about a heavy metal band that despite never ‘making it’ absolutely refused to give up on their dream—and 50 years later are still rocking. Over the last two years, the surprisingly inspirational film was somehow unearthed by Millennials and Gen Z.
