E M P O W E R E D BY: Community. Hear from Catherine Cowden, VP of Recruitment! For this year’s recruitment, we wanted to choose a theme. By choosing a theme, everyone involved in the recruitment process can have a common goal to encourage and push each other towards. Coming into Greek Life, I had an extremely stereotypical view of sororities. After becoming a member of Greek Life and investing in relationships and community, I learned that this view was far from the truth. Samford Panhellenic focuses heavily on practicing a values based recruitment. This means that sororities are not judging PNMs based on looks, who they know, or how many rec letters they have. Instead, chapter members get to know the values and passions of PNMs to best help them find their place in Greek Life. Because of this focus, I found a community of women both in my sorority and the Panhellenic community to empower me to be my best self.
