#Houston St. John Paul II keeps watch over the Polish groceries at this hidden Houston gem.
King cake during
#MardiGras is great, but the tender filling inside the delicious pączki, a kind of donut pastry, is all I can think about right now. Filled with cream or a jam, then doused with sprinkles... (or not) and I’ll take a dozen. The Thursday before Fat Tuesday is also called Pączki Day, which is definitely a day of the week I can support... An older Polish lady asked me if I liked pączki (admittedly I’m not the expected demographic for this store) to which I replied, “Who doesn’t like pączki?!” Right answer, she said as she handed me one of the three boxes of
#pączki she was carrying out of the store....
