Sam Spedale is an 89-year-old Italian man of legend. He's close to 90, but he told me not to tell ANYONE. (Sorry Sam!) He asked me about my camera and my last name. When he learned my parents came from #ThePhilippines, he said he had a Canon throughout his time in Luzon during World War II. It got stolen when he returned Stateside, though. "Some guy slashed my bag." He told me how he felt for the people he saw, the poverty, and the desperation for even just a pack of cigarettes. "This one lady asked to do my laundry for a week just for a pack!" he said. "I felt like I was selling her short, so I gave them to her for free." His eyes had a devilish glint when he told me about his travels back to Italy. "I saw a bus with my last name on the side of it. I asked the first lady I saw, 'Hey! What does that mean?'
