LOOKING UP • As the chaos of World Youth Day Madrid 2011 finally slowed, we made our way to Almudena Cathedral. I felt somebody bump into me from behind. I swore (sorry mom) thinking I got pickpocketed and jumped away. Then I heard my name: JAMES?! What. The. Heck. I turned around and my friend Lauren was just laughing at me. A city of over 4 million (half a million visitors much like myself), a friend physically runs into me!
In just a week, I'll be heading to Philadelphia when Pope Francis visits the World Meeting of Families. It will be a lot like in Madrid. A ton of people, one pope, and thousands of chance encounters.
