This is why I came. This
#Titian depiction of Simon of Cyrene helping Christ Carrying the Cross is one of my most favorite paintings in the entire world. I got to see it in person for the second time after see it during my pilgrimage to
#WorldYouthDay in Madrid at the Museo del Prado. A year later I found it on the cover of my copy of
#TheWay by St Josemaria. I was, and still am, in awe and wonder. Wherever you walk by it, His gaze still draws upon you. His eyes find yours. Your find His. For a few moments I wasn't in a walled building but in boundless silent reverence. I considered this second trip to this painting in my hometown a pilgrimage of prayer as we start the
#triduum tomorrow closing
#Lent. Prayers. This is my first
#storyportrait and I figured I'd have to share it about my daily encounter with the One whose story draws me closer to union and fulfills my story.
