This Spring Break, a group of Tigers went to Big Bend National Park for two days of hiking and three days of canoeing and camping in Boquillas Canyon.
This trip was offered by Trinity Outdoor Recreation, a student-run organization that specializes in taking Trinity students off campus and into the wild side of Texas and surrounding states. Their activities include hiking, backpacking, canoeing, swimming, and more! People of all outdoor experience levels are welcome to attend their trips.
“Going on OREC’s spring break trip was a unique experience,” says marketing student Gabi Salgado ’25. “I have never camped and canoed before this trip, and OREC made me feel comfortable with checking off this item from my bucket list! They provided all the necessary gear and meals, and I didn’t have to worry about logistics. And Big Bend and the Boquillas Canyon were beautiful. I’ve never seen so many shooting stars and beautiful sunsets in my life!” she adds.
