As part of Trinity’s Space Week festivities, the Jazz Ensemble put on a stellar performance featuring tunes about the moon, sun, and stars.
This gig was a unique experience for many members as it took place in the Center for the Sciences and Innovation (CSI) Cube instead of a more traditional concert hall. The musicians were surrounded by desks, whiteboards, and computer monitors as they played for the Trinity community.
“Usually we’re in a venue that’s not so echoey,” says saxophonist Brooks Dieringer ‘26. “But I appreciated the more casual vibe.”
Under the direction of Brian Christensen, the band presented an impressive and varied set.
“We had some niche picks from some great composers,” says Brooks. “Our director’s really good about finding the most valued artists as well as some lesser-known works.”
Come support the Jazz Ensemble at their next concert on Sunday, October 29, in Ruth Taylor Recital Hall!
