Megan Uren ’20 is an international studies major from Colorado. After graduation, she plans to attend the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver.
Megan recalls being on an OREC spring break trip in the Big Bend National Park, far away from phone service, when the COVID-19 situation began to escalate across the country.
“I was unaware of the chaos and fear building and instead canoeing and camping down the Rio Grande with really incredible people from Trinity. I’m very glad my last days in Texas for the time being were spent that way. The ball dropped on us when we crept back into cell phone service at the end of our trip. We pulled into the small town of Marathon, Texas to gas up the van, and our friend turned on his phone–and it was then that we all learned that the world was turning upside down.”
