God isn’t some passive thing or a charm that you hold on to, he is a real and mighty being. He is immensely personal and desires a relationship with you. The one who watches out for you, knows what you are doing and what you are thinking. Thus, he is capable of relating to you, having the knowledge of your experience, as well as Jesus having experienced our struggles himself. When we sit and rest, God sees us, when we lie down in pain, exhaustion, sorrow, etc., he sees us. He knows our deep feelings.
