“My highest and lowest point in triathlon so far both happened at IM Cozumel this past November. The high point: I PR’d after booking the trip just two days prior to racing without even being trained for a full distance! I’m so proud of myself because I took a chance on my body to see what I could accomplish. ➡️

But after the race, the low point: my friend suffered a seizure due to electrolyte and sodium depletion. I called 911, she was rushed to the hospital, and thankfully she recovered with no complications. But after that, I could not bike or run without hyperventilating due to thoughts of her almost dying on me. I even threw my bike outside because I wanted to quit. ➡️

My triathlete friends helped me overcome my fears and got me back on the bike and running again by talking with me, coaching me through the fears, and being the most incredible friends. My friend who suffered the seizure is doing incredible and back to racing! I’m almost there, and I have to ...
