Three teams of students completed the challenge by building a drone and flying it autonomously. The drone had to take-off, climb to 100ft, reach GPS waypoints, fly down to 10ft to mimic the delivery of a 🍕, then fly back home and land safely. The student teams started in January this year and successfully completed the challenge. Participating students were from various departments, such as engineering, computer science, architecture, information systems, data science, aviation, and cybersecurity. Andrews Innovation plans on hosting another drone competition next school year, so stay tuned for more details.
