Kilkenny Castle is nothing short of magnificent and a widely recognized Irish landmark; ideally situated South of Dublin this stunning medieval structure was converted to comfortably house aristocrats in the 1800's and early 1900's. During the 1930's it was strategically conveyed to the local municipality as the cost to maintain (depression era) became too much of a burden for the owners.
