Congrats to the Student Athletes of the Week, Chandler Allen and Harley Wilson! Allen from ritlacrosse helped lead a stout defensive unit to wins over John Carroll and Union in the NCAA Tournament last week. On Saturday, Allen, a long stick midfielder, scooped up four ground balls and caused two turnovers, none bigger than one with seven seconds left on Union's final possession, as RIT hung on for a 10-9 win to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Allen has 62 ground balls and is second on the team with 37 caused turnovers in 21 games played this season. Wilson from RIT Women's Track and Field broke her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles, winning her heat over potential NCAA Qualifiers Tayler Dence of St. John Fisher College and Erin MacDougall of SUNY Geneseo, in a time of 1:00.78 at the SUNY Geneseo May Meet on Saturday, May 11, which snapped her previous mark, set at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships by 12 one-hundredths of a second.
