Congrats to the Student Athletes of the Week, Patrick Blackall and Amelia Ying! Blackall from ritbaseball went 8-for-9 with eight runs batted in to lead the Tigers to a pair of wins over Utica Saturday afternoon. Blackall went 4-for-4 in game one with a home run, double and season-high four runs batted in in game one and finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored in game two. He is now hitting .434 with two homers and 15 RBI in 13 games. Ying from rittennis won both her matches at both first singles and second doubles in a 2-0 week for the Tigers. On Wednesday, she rolled to a 6-0, 6-4 win over Nthabi Mogopodi of Roberts Wesleyan. Saturday, Ying defeated Julieta Eulau, 6-1, 6-3 as RIT knocked off SUNY Oneonta, 8-1. In doubles play, Ying and Shayna Ginster won both of their doubles matches by identical 8-2 scores.
