Legend has it Ralph Button drives himself to his races, and has hit record mileage on his Factory Five Mk1 Roadster. With some recent updates he’s missing a rollbar, and while his wife is happy about that, he says not to worry as “he has a plan to get the rollbar reinstalled to take on and off” and get back to the races. Ralph’s Mk1 Roadster recently earned a makeover after an incident involving a deer. We send our deepest condolences to the deer’s family. As for the Mk1, it survived the hit! Regardless, car shows don’t appreciate scar stories as much as we do. The London Cobra Show was coming up, so Ralph and his granddaughter added some red fender stripes to cover up the broken fender, and made it to the show with the fender taped together! Then with the help of students at the body shop on BOCES campus in Coopers Plains, NY Ralph had a new MkIII body delivered to be cleaned up and painted a new color with stripes.
