Our Mariners have placed 1B Ty France on irrevocable outright waivers. Any team can claim Ty within the next 48 hours, and if they do they will also have to pay what is left of his 1-year, $6.775 million contract for the 2024 season. If he goes unclaimed, he is still with Seattle and can be outrighted to the minors. Due to his service time, France can deny that outright and become a free agent. The expectation is that Tyler Locklear will be called up from AAA Tacoma, but Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports that Jason Vosler could be called up.
