What drives your desire to see the world? For some, traveling is a source of escapism but recently there has been a shift toward traveling as a much deeper need for self-discovery. Lately, travelers are seeking out experiences that speak to their personal backgrounds or heritage, or ones that help to strengthen their bonds with cultures and communities around the world. To better understand how Americans think about travel now, we surveyed 2,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 75 and what we found is that young people, and especially Gen Z, are fundamentally reshaping our views of tourism and the role travel plays in our lives.
