Coretta Scott met Martin Luther King Jr. while he was pursuing a doctorate in systematic theology at Boston University in 1952. In June 1953 they married in Coretta's mother's home in Marion, Alabama. ❣️Mrs. King played a very important role in the civil rights movement as an activist and continued leading the campaign for a holiday in his honor.
