Many #GreenBook Black businesses experienced a decline after desegregation. For the Lorraine Motel National Civil Rights Museum, the assassination of MLK on the motel balcony made it even worse. Owner Walter Bailey fought to keep the historic site open until foreclosure in 1982. Thankfully, the community pooled resources to #SaveTheLorraine and converted it into the first American civil rights museum. See what happened to other sites in the exhibition opening tomorrow. bit.ly/NCRMgreenbook
