When not hypnotizing sheep into a pen at a pet wrangling contest and being awarded first prize, of course, the hypnotoad is, eh, wha?!, sorry, this is not a hypnotoad, it’s a Rocky Mountain Toad. Well, whoever you all are, if anybody wants us, we’ll be in the angry dome thinking about amphibians and watching Everybody Loves Hypnotoad. The show has been going downhill since season 3 but everyone seems to like it. That’s right! It’s Amphibian Week. The celebration calls attention to the important role that animals such as frogs, toads, newts, and salamanders play in our ecosystem and food chain. Amphibians consume huge numbers of mosquitoes and other disease-bearing insects. They are also indicator species, highly sensitive to the impacts of climate change and environmental contamination.
