Did George Washington Carver invent peanut butter? 🥜 Not quite. George Washington Carver was a renowned agricultural scientist who developed over 300 different uses for peanuts, but he wasn’t the inventor of peanut butter. However, his innovations increased the legume’s popularity and helped make peanuts a staple in the American diet. His 1916 pamphlet “How to Grow the Peanut and 105 Ways of Preparing it For Human Consumption, offered, well 105 ways to use the peanut. That’s nuts! Located in southwestern Missouri, George Washington Carver National Monument (@gwcarvernps) is the birthplace and childhood home of the famed scientist, educator, and humanitarian. Inspired by his birthplace and natural surroundings, Carver studied and contributed great accomplishments to the field of agriculture. Later, as director of the agricultural department at Booker T.
