On December 7, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service launched a surprise military strike on the United States and the world turned upside down. This attack drew the United States into World War II, and changed the course of global history in the 20th century. Today marks the 82nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Each year, Pearl Harbor Survivors, veterans, and visitors from all over the world come together to honor and remember the 2,403 service members and civilians who were killed during the attack. Remembrance events are held at @pearlharbornps, culminating in a commemoration ceremony. Join the park for the 82nd Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony today at 7:50am HST. The ceremony will be live streamed on the park’s Facebook channel. Image 1: A line of park rangers salutes the commemorative wall of names within the USS Arizona Memorial.
