Kīlauea, so hot right now…🌋 Kīlauea volcano has once again erupted, marking its 5th eruption in the past 4 years within Halemaʻumaʻu crater. Located along the southeastern shore of Hawai'i Island, Kīlauea has historically been the most active of the five volcanoes that together form the island of Hawai'i. Unlike explosive continental volcanoes, the more fluid and less gaseous eruptions of Kīlauea produce fiery fountains and rivers of molten lava. At this time, some park areas may be closed for your safety. If visiting the area, please read and follow all posted signs and barricades.
