“Bushes are nice 'cause they don't have prickers. Unless they do. This one did. Ouch!” - Ralph Wiggum⁣ ⁣ Joshua Tree’s many species of cacti are a beautiful sight, especially when lit up by the setting sun – the teddybear cholla (Cylindropuntia bigelovii) is shown here at the Cholla Cactus Garden. But don’t let your guard down around them! It’s all too easy to brush up against a cactus in this environment and get yourself into a “prickle.” ⁣ ⁣ We’re learneding! Keep your wits about you and look up, down, and around while visiting the park to make sure you’re not about to run into something spiky! ⁣(Good advice for plant, animal, or temperamental hiking partners.) ⁣ Image: At Joshua Tree National Park, a view of a spiky teddybear cholla (Cylindropuntia bigelovii) in the Cholla Cactus Garden.
