Someone asked for some Isle Royale love. ❤️ We got you. A cool climate, crystal-clear waters, and the wild North Woods forest characterize Michigan’s Isle Royale National Park. There is excellent fishing, historic lighthouses, and even shipwrecks, ancient copper mining sites, and plenty of spots to observe wildlife. (Don’t moose with the moose!) Despite its beauty, the park remains one of the most secluded destinations in the entire National Park system. Why no love? The opposite! Isle Royale is an amazing destination, but you really have to plan ahead for a visit. Situated in Lake Superior roughly 55 miles from the tip of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, the park is comprised of a series of rugged islands that can only be reached by boat or sea plane. Check your schedule, because the park is only accessible from mid-April through the end of October. Have you explored the rugged beauty of isleroyalenps?
