“PROFESSOR! LAVA! HOT!!!” - Professor Farnsworth
Did you know it’s
#VolcanoWeek? Volcanoes are sooooo hot right now! It’s hard not to be awed by an active volcano. Molten rock—magma—making its way to the surface gives us a glimpse of the powerful forces that made Earth and continue to shape it today. Many national parks protect these active processes and the volcanic features left behind from past activity. Today, you can watch these forces at work, walk on ancient lava beds, or climb to the peaks of long-dormant craters. You still can’t touch hot lava. Sorry. 🌋
This week follow
#VolcanoWeek on social media and learn from several volcanic parks sharing their diversity of landforms, types of volcanoes, and volcanic landscapes.
