“Here’s my strut, do do do
Strutting my way on over to you
You like my strut? I like yours too
Strutting my way on over to you…”
Show him your strut, coach. Ptarmigan (the “p” is silent) are year-round residents in
@denalinps. In winter, they travel great distances searching for food. Good thing their feet are feathered and provide them with good support for strutting across the snow. Fun fact, “Ptarmigan” is derived from a Scottish Gaelic word tàrmachan which means “croaker.”
Croaker? The Ptarmigan is quite vocal. It can produce a series of nasal clucks and growls. Other calls sound like a scream, hiss, purr, or peep.
