Volcanoes are so hot right now. 🌋 Views before sunrise of both Mauna Loa and Kīlauea erupting in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park were downright spectacular on Tuesday. Both of these photos were taken at an overlook about a half-mile walk from Kīlauea Visitor Center, Kūpinaʻi Pali. The lava in Kīlauea is confined to the summit lava lake since September 2021. The lava on Mauna Loa is from the NE Rift Zone from a newly identified fissure in the park, fissure 4. Neither eruption is a threat to the community at this time.
