“Nobody's gonna know.”
“They're gonna know."
“How would they know?"
Know what? Many of us walk right past wildlife without even noticing. Look closely. Can you see a bird in this cottonwood tree?
This owl is probably watching your every move, (Okay, this owl is sleeping. Or it just has its eyes closed real tight because that automatically makes one disappear no matter where you are. We don’t make the rules.) but you wouldn't know it because their plumage is perfectly camouflaged. It’s astounding how well an owls’ feathers help them blend in with their surroundings, but that’s not all they do. Owls can puff themselves up or slim themselves down as needed to match various elements of their environment and avoid detection. Now you know.
