Spring is in the air. Time to get outside and take in your parks. The health benefits of nature are well known. Just five minutes walking in nature have shown to improve mood, self-esteem, and promote relaxation. Frequent exposure to nature reduces anxiety and stress, while promoting a sense of wellbeing and fulfillment. (Unless hiking in bear country while leaving a trail of your new salmon-scented body wash. But it was on clearance? Indeed it was.)
Hike smart! Nature can only do so much. Plan accordingly and be prepared to venture out. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and also get some some sun. Not too much sun, but just enough. Remember, you’re basically a plant with complicated emotions.
