At 100 years of age, Betty Reid Soskin is the oldest active park ranger in the National Park Service. Through her work at the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historic Park, she has also become a leading spokesperson for the diverse experiences of domestic war-effort workers during World War II. Betty became a park ranger in 2007 at the age of 85 and turned 100 last September! As a civil rights activist, musician, and pioneering businesswoman, she continues to share her life experiences and remains an inspiration for other park employees, visitors, and youth.
