Attempted murder?
That’s right! Murder, we wrote! “Murder” is the collective noun often associated with a group of crows. So why the bad PR? Crows are omnivorous scavengers and will eat just about anything — insects, seeds, fruits, eggs, and even small animals. Folklore and superstitions have further fueled an association with death and foreboding. On the contrary, crows are incredibly smart, social birds. They are capable of using tools, playing tricks, and learning new skills. A “flock” of crows works just fine. On the other hand, a horde, mob, muster, and parcel can also refer to groups of crows. Watch out for any feathered pieces of mail mustering at your doorstep! You’ve been warned!
