The look on our face when you tell us you drove six hours to get here and then ask us what you can do in 30 minutes. Who doesn’t want to visit as many parks as you can? But if you do have time constraints, consider an itinerary with parks that are easy to get to, easy to get around, or offer places to see or activities to do within a short amount of time. When planning, keep in mind factors like road closures and weather advisories that can also impact your trip. Many smaller parks are closed during certain parts of the season while historic homes may not be open some days of the week. And others may be open, but with limited opportunities depending on the season. Before venturing out, check out a park's website. You'll find great things to do, maps, calendars, directions, park brochures, and operating hours. Plan ahead and make the most of every visit!
